During the last SwanMarket I stopped by SasKnitsItAgain at the Rotabs Style center, to buy some new yarn. There is simply too much choice and too many colours. But, as one can never have enough yarn I treated myself to lots of different colours, to keep myself entertained for the next couple of weeks.
So this is the result of staying in her lovely shop for about an hour :) I bought three sets of yarn, to make a scarf (still no summer in Holland) and two baby blankets.
This fresh yellow and brown will make another great scarf, similar to the ones I've made before.
Then these lovely pink and grey tones will make a cute baby blanket for a newborn girl. Instead of using the same old granny square pattern again, I want to create a ripple blanket this time. The yarn is from Phildar, Partner 6 and feels really soft and fluffy.
Then this last sets with blue and grey tones is for a baby boy blanket. It's for my nephew Max, as his second baby blanket. The yarn is also from Phildar, same as the pink ones. Excited to start on these new projects soon!!
From really thick quality fabric I created these pillow covers, with zipper. The fabric is absolutely gorgeous, although the striped one is a little bit hard to work with if you want to keep everything precisely alligned. Looking forward to put these in the webshop soon.
A friend of mine bought this lovely dress. I really like the top piece with the pleats. Recently we made a basic pattern for a dress during pattern drawing class. Now I want to see if I can recreate the dress below, to my own size and fabric.
The base pattern that I use to change into this dress looks likes this:
After creating about 4 new editions of the top I think I now have the full pattern that should result in the pleats of the original dress. Back to work!
I´ve sewn all the pieces together and I´m quite satisfied with the first results. Now I still need to create sleeves, a lining, and close it with a zipper.
This is Kookiez. My blog on creative projects I am working on. I love to crochet, sew and knit. And in the summer I also paint occasionally.
