Deciding on a new sewing project I put some nice fabrics together to see which one would work best. I decided to pick the blue one, to make a new skinny pants. Now I am still thinking what to make from the other ones :)

Here is some new crochet stuff I am working on: coasters. The pattern is quite easy: increasing from 8, to 16, to 24, etc in each round (or 6, to 12, to 18). You can find plenty of flat circle patterns on Ravelry. The yarn I used is Drops Bomull-Lin in colours 21 (dark blue), 15 (light grey) and 11 (beige). I am not too fond of this type of yarn. It is okay for coasters, or pillow covers, but I wouldn't recommend it for blankets as the yarn is quite stiff, and not soft.
This weekend I went to the Kunsthal (Hal of Art) in Rotterdam, to see the exposition on Jean Paul Gaultier. It is a real treat. The exposition is very extensive with lots of fashion items of JPG on display. And no spoilers here, but the way they are displayed on the mannequins is very innovative. A real recommendation if you are in town between now and May 12. Here's a sneak peak of what to expect.
Here's a new blankie! It is still work in progress and now only about 0,50 by 0,50 m small. The pattern used is the hexagon motif #50 from 'Beyond the square - Crochet Motifs' from 'Edie eckman'. It is the same one I used in this baby blanket. It is an easy pattern and you can join the hexagons on the go. Yarn used is Cotton Light from Drops, in colours bright pink (18), bright blue (14), off white (01), light grey (30) and dark grey (31). To be continued!
